If you loved the humour of South Park then this movie is for you. Starring both the creators of South Park, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, the movie is a shot at modern sports and their overpaid stars. It's not anti-sport but rather recalls the ‘golden era’ of sports where people played for the game and comradeship… except of course with the addition of beer and cheerleaders in lingerie.
I admit the first time I saw it I thought it was only “okay” but after seeing it again I can't believe I didn't notice how funny it really is. I imagine that it wasn't a hit because it doesn't have the level of offensive content that South Park had.
This movie has “cult classic” written all over it. If you look at the cover-art then you'll see a little of what to expect. If you can't see anything funny about it then perhaps you're looking at the wrong movie to buy.
