He is known as The Baron. Tall, handsome & debonair, John Mannering is a man who knows the world & thrives on adventure through his business as an exclusive international art and antique dealer. It’s a business that stirs greed, vanity and passions that propel him into exciting, danger-laden adventures stemming from the fabulous wares he handles and the people who buy, sell or steal precious treasures.

As if that’s not enough, The Baron is persuaded to assist British Intelligence, aided by the glamorous Cordelia (Sue Lloyd) as they risk their lives on espionage missions for the head of Diplomatic Intelligence, John Alexander Templeton-Green (Colin Gordon).

Made by ITC (The Saint, Danger Man) & based on novelist John Creasey’s jet set character, THE BARON was the first ITC action series to be filmed in colour & utilised high profile American actor Steve Forrest in the title role. Storylines struck a balance between THE BARON’s antique business and his work for British Intelligence with guest stars including John Thaw (The Sweeney / Insp. Morse), Peter Wyngarde (Department S), Peter Bowles (To The Manor Born), George Baker (Ruth Rendell’s Insp. Wexford), Jeremy Brett (Sherlock Holmes) and Edward Woodward (Callan).

Umbrella Entertainment presents the complete series of THE BARON for the first time, all 30 episodes - complete & uncut with special features including Exclusive Audio Commentaries with series star Sue Lloyd, Production Executive Johnny Goodman & Director Roy Ward Baker, plus rarely seen production footage, trailers & original publivity & memorabilia, this is the 40th Anniversary Special Edition of a cult TV classic.
