Originally from Germany, Annabelle Hartmann has lived and worked in London for the past seven years. She studied Illustration at Kingston University, graduating with First Class Honours in 1998, and she now lectures at Central Saint Martin's College of Art & Design and London Guildhall University. As a freelance illustrator, Annabelle works on commissions for magazines and websites as well as children's books. Stories about kings and about elephants have fascinated her since childhood, so Annabelle decided it was about time she put the two together and wrote her own story, As Big as a Mountain.
