Most of the material in Wisharts book is more faithfully covered in David Yallops book “Beyond Reasonable Doubt.” Wishart begins his story claiming “explosive” new evidence at the books beginning but at the end of the book on page 243 Wishart admits theres NONE supporting evidence for his story at all ! The secret witness didnt make an official complaint with a sworn statement either. Cop Johnston at the time of the Pukekawa double murders gots lots of phoney calls from people claiming that Lee Harvey Oswald or the Aliens did the killings. Ian Wisharts book is very reckless and it erodes the good work from other authors like David Yallop because it has a huge amount of inconclusive and unsupported evidence, and worse, a lot of mere speculation which serves to contaminate the faithful evidence there is with the Arthur Allan Thomas story.

Description

For the first time in 40 years, the man wrongly convicted of the Crewe Murders breaks his silence to tell the full story.

A NEW WITNESS COMES FORWARD: “Dear Ian, I have had information since 1970 that I have been far too frightened to release. I made an effort to inform the Police in 1970 and spoke to a Sergeant Johnston … he told me that if I ever rang the Police with that information again or made any attempt to have it made known then I would be the next bastard found in the river”

Award-winning investigative journalist Ian Wishart hunts down significant new leads, and for the first time, Arthur Allan Thomas describes his arrest, his years behind bars and his life since release - an incredible, never-before-told story...
