This Lifeboat model from the RMS Titanic is a good model to start ship modelling. It gives the novice modeller a chance to have a go at shaping hull planks around the frame of the Lifeboat. It is a Clinker build so the planks over lap a wee bit. A tip is DON'T PLANK one side completely then the other or you'll turn the lifeboat into a banana. Start the Clinker Planking by turning the frame upside down & plank one side next to the keel then do the other side, dinny ferget ter carefully over-lap the planks a wee bit until you get to gun whale height. A nice looking model when finished.
