Very few airlines throughout the world continued to carry the name of their founder over the decades. Ansett Australia was one of them.
This documentary is the story of Reginald Myles Ansett - one of Australia’s great aviation pioneers - and the airline which bore his name.
It includes archive footage of some of Ansett’s earliest aircraft including the second hand single-engined Fokker Universal with which he started the airline, through the DC-3, Viscount, DC-6, Sandringham fl ying boat, F.27 Friendship, Boeing 727, 767, Airbus A320, Boeing 747 and others.
There are are rare fi lmed comments from ‘RM’ himself plus interviews with long-serving Ansett employees, friends, associates and rivals and with his widow, Lady Ansett.
