I ardently desire the intellectual and spiritual culture of the natives of my country, my kinsmen according to the flesh, who speak the Irish language. Isee no reason why they should not have their language cultivated as well as the Scotch and the Welch. I anticipate national and individual improvement from the education of the people of Ireland through the medium of their own language.
