Description

Aging is a very personal process for every human being. Progressing into old age, however, creates a challenge, not just for the individual, but for family, friends, and society. This Guide will enable anyone charged with the responsibility of managing the aging process to gain an understanding of what may lie ahead, explore a variety of coping options, and avoid time-consuming and potentially expensive traps. Complementing the text, this Guide includes access to a number of information collection sheets that enable the reader to capture pertinent details specific to their unique situation. As the reader moves through this process, they will compile a comprehensive package of information that reflects the evolving behaviors, abilities and wishes of their loved one and serves as well, to support timely and appropriate decision making throughout the aging process.

Author Biography:

Bonnie Hardy is an Adult Educator. A few years ago, she embarked on the most amazing, albeit often confusing and challenging journey of her life; assisting her Mother as she learned to adjust and cope with the process of aging. This Guide is not a reflection of their journey, but rather, provides a format that allows each reader to personalize the text to their unique situation, as they work through the joys and challenges of supporting an aging loved one. Norm Hardy routinely applies his expertise in Risk Assessment and Management to developing solutions to both individual and larger scale problems. He has an extensive experience conducting specialized research and analysis, and, as well, creating, administering and evaluating a variety of personal assessment, information gathering and decision-making instruments. Norm holds both Master's and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Kansas. Bonnie & Norm live in the Pacific Northwest amidst the trees in the shadow of the Olympic Mountains.
