Description

Bill Taylor had a heart attack in 1989, when hospitals were very different and he found himself in a men's ward, with thirty other heart attack victims. Recovering, Bill talked to other patients and became interested in the causes of their heart attacks. He discovered that those who had had a close encounter with death were very happy to talk in far more detail than he had anticipated which produced some unbelievable truthful revelations. During the course of his investigation, concentrating solely on the lifestyles of 39 patients, Bill identified one - non-medical - cause of heart attacks that appeared to outweigh all of the other, medical reasons among these patients. Following a later problem with his heart, he discovered that smoking played a surprising role in his personal health. This book contains the route to their heart attacks for the patients on the ward, as well as Bill's background, and reminiscences about his 90 years of life.
