"Good value, but quality and gameplay varies widely "

Have had no trouble loading The Watchmaker and JCE games on Windows 7. Haven't tried the Martin Mystere game yet. I started playing The Watchmaker, but after playing excellent high quality games like Syberia I/II and Dreamfall The Longest Journey, this game seems just abysmal by comparison. It was so slow and awkward I decided to cut my losses and start JCE instead. Pleasantly surprised – is interesting and intelligent so far, even though it's a slightly older game. Good value to get three games in one pack, even if one is a little lame.

I bought this for my 62yr old mother who absolutely loves it. She spends hours playing them. Her favourite is JCE which she takes turns with her brother playing.

It was a brilliant buy!

Only one game is worth looking at and that was Journey to the Center ..... A brilliant game!!!!

Out of the three games, only two worked with Vista (Journey to the Centre of the Earth and The Watchmaker) which was a little sad, but I wasn't too phased.

I tried The Watchmaker first and after seeing the first cutscene I had to quit. The voice acting is appealing, it really detracted from any interest I had in the game. When it finally came to controlling the characters (thank God) I exited as fast as I could.

Journey to the Centre of the Earth was a little more decent, but (at the beginning at least) it also had the ability to be mind-bogglingly difficult – some of the items you had to combine/find were so obscure, I wonder how they came up with such combinations.

I also found it clumsy; there were a couple of times where I was so lost I needed a walkthrough, only to find I WAS doing the right thing, just that the main character was standing in front of or at the wrong angle for me to activate something or pick up an item.

The storyline itself was good, but the gameplay was just too tedious for me to want to continue.
