Author Biography:

 Dr. A. Arockiarajan is currently working as a professor at Solid Mechanics Division, Department of Applied Mechanics, Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai. He obtained his B.E. from M. S. University, Tirunelveli, M.E. from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, India and Ph.D. from the University of Kaiserslautern, Germany. His areas of research include smart materials and structures, composites and bio-materials. He has published nearly 100 research articles in reputed international and national journals.  Dr. M. Duraiselvam is currently working as a professor at the Department of Production Engineering, National Institute of Technology Trichy. He graduated from Coimbatore Institute of Technology with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1996. He completed his Master’s degree in Manufacturing Technology from National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli in 1998. He also has an MBA from Madurai Kamaraj University specialized in operations management in 2003. He completed his Ph.D. in the area of laser cladding of turbine blades from Technical University of Clausthal, Germany in 2006 under DAAD Fellowship. Dr. Durai was also awarded Young Scientist by Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India for a fast track project. He has published nearly 80 research articles in reputed international and national journals. Dr. Ramesh Raju is currently working as a professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Santhiram Engineering College, Nandyal, Andhra Pradesh. He graduated from Shanmugha College of Engineering, Thanjavur, Bharathidasan University and obtained his post graduate degree from Thiagarajar College of Engineering Madurai, Anna University. He obtained his Ph.D. from National Institute of Technology Trichy. He has 5 years of industrial experience, 9 years of teaching experience and 7 years of research experience. His areas of interest are laser material processing, surface engineering and refractory materials. Dr. Raju is a fellow of Indian Institute of Production Engineers (India) and a member of the Indian Society for Technical Education of India. He has published more than 40 research articles in respected international and national publications.
