USSR, 1936: 16-year-old Alexsi Ivanovich Smirnov is caught by the NKVD and transported to Moscow where the secret police give him a choice: be trained and inserted as a spy into Nazi Germany or disappear forever. For Alexsi, it’s no choice at all. For the next seven years, he lives as the nephew of a Nazi official, all the while acting as a double agent - reporting back to the NKVD and avoiding the Gestapo. Trapped between two dictatorships and loyal to no one but himself, Alexsi’s goal remains the same - survival. In 1943, he is chosen by the Gestapo to infiltrate the site of the Tehran conference between Churchill, Roosevelt, and Stalin, and set up the assassination.
