A present-day quest set against the liquid-blue background of surfing, sailing, and the California coast. 16-year-old Nate Prichard thought life at Surfer's Point couldn't get much better: perfect waves, perfect weather, perfect everything, or so he thought until the day he watched his dad die in the surf. Emotionally adrift after the death of his father, Nate inherits a sailboat and a dream to sail to a California offshore island. He finds support from his grandpa and love from a surfer girl named Nora, who is trying to break free from her domineering father. While Nate sails to the island seeking independence from his estranged mom, Nora must join him to uncover a dark secret buried there by her father years earlier.
