Mia tumbled headlong down the stairs at school, and is now in hospital in a serious coma. But her younger brother is haunted by mysterious messages on his mobile, and it leads him to investigate further into the circumstances surrounding her accident. It seems many of her friends are less than open about important details - but how suspicious is that, really, given that they are all teenagers with the normal hectic cocktail of romance and illicit activity.
