Description

For almost seven decades Jack Greenberg fought for justice, firmly establishing himself as a legend in the legal community and beyond. Of course, he had a private life as well: he loved his family and friends, opera, cooking, travel, jokes, fine wines, and his country. This highly original book, by Greenberg's adopted son, is part biography, part memoir, part reference book, and part photo album. It includes substantial, heretofore unpublished documentation and about 150 photographs. It brings together the disparate elements of Greenberg's life and character with insights, scholarship, and humor.

Author Biography

Jack Greenberg adopted William Cole and his sister Suzanne shortly after marrying their widowed mother. Cole traveled widely with his parents, even accompanying them on some of their human rights missions abroad. Just as important, he served as the family's unofficial archivist, saving clippings, and memorabilia that might otherwise have been lost. He currently lives with his two sons in Sitges, a sunny Catalan town about thirty minutes down the coast from Barcelona. He is an art and rare book dealer and an expert in connoisseurship. His most recent book is The Juvenilia of William Kentridge: An Unauthorized Catalogue Raisonne(Sitges, 2016
