"Don't buy this from MA- stock is imported!"
1 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

I recently bought this game from MA and was sent a region 3 (ie. Singapore/Taiwan/etc.) copy of the game. While the game plays fine on NZ consoles, the included DLC code won't work for our PSN store. The MA representative I talked to said that all their stock for this game is also region 3. Be warned that unless you want to buy the normally-included DLC off the PSN for an extra $10, you might as well buy this second-hand elsewhere and get the same you'd get from buying from MA for cheaper.

"Great strategy game"

Haven't played a game like this before… But it filled my urge to play a thinking game, which seems to be hard to find these days.

"Brilliant"

Amazing game for fans of the Xcom series or anyone looking for a wicked turn based strategy. The game makes you think before initiating each move and really emphasises the “strategy” part of the game. There are a number of enemies, each with different weaknesses and strengths and 4 different solider factions for your recruits. This allows you to plan a team for each specific mission and each solider has a specific role in your squad. Love this game and would highly recommend it! Xcom/10

"What a gem!"

If you are into a bit of strategy with your action then this is your game! Stoked to buy this (so cheap) with not much knowledge about it and it was a bloody gem! Hours of fun and gameplay, well worth the money spent.

"Great turn based game"

My expectations were low, due to the low price. If you love turned based strategy games, your going to love this. It also nice to come across a game which “easy level” and “hard level” actually reflect gameplay.

"Absolutely amazing"

XCOM: Enemy Unknown is one of those games that when you play the first level, you want to continue for hours on end. I would definitely recommend this gameto anyone looking for either a casual sit-back-and-relaxed gameplay, or a challenging edge-of-your-seat experience.

The game play is good and if your someone who enjoys a good story-line that really develops and requires strategy it is most certainly for you.

Has been some great entertainment the past few weeks. Heaps to do and when you think is this it, there is more just waiting around the corner. However… The corner seems so close but the game has no consistency, so it takes ages.

For example. If you are not cautious in every move possible, there is a chance you are gonna loose players with the flick of a switch. I have lost so many players to week aliens so many times, players that have the highest rank possible. SO therefore, prepare to do alot of loading or let them die and never recover them.

Another thing is. If you have gone through a set of moves, kill a hord of aliens and your COLONEL goes down. You reload and start those moves, EXACTLY how you did them before. Trust me when I say this they will not have the same outcome, which to me seems weird, because throughout the whole game they give you percentages on critical hits/hits (they give you the impression that it is mathematically worked out). No consistancy what so ever…

P.S. Watch your auto-saves, you may need to go into settings to turn it on, not only that, the game will only auto-save when one of your players takes damage or dies… NOT after every turn.

Once you have mastered the campaign, try the multiplayer, it actually is very enjoyable.
