On the run from a deal gone bad, New York con-artist Teddy (Jonathan Schaech, That Thing You Do) winds up in the Australian outback and finds himself surrounded by an oddball collection of larrikins and misfits. Kidnapped by blonde sexpot Angie (Susie Porter,Two Hands) Teddy is taken to a mysterious township called Woop Woop where beer flows free and people swear loud, populated by a rough and tumble community with a fondness for Rodgers and Hammerstein music. With larger-than-life town patriarch Daddy-O (Rod Taylor, The Birds) looking over proceedings it seems there is no easy escape for Teddy. Based on Douglas Kennedy's novel The Dead Heart, directed by Stephan Elliot (The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert) and also featuring Barry Humphries, Rachel Griffiths, Paul Mercurio, Maggie Kirkpatrick, Tina Louise, Richard Moir and Dee Smart, Welcome To Woop Woop is a colourful comedy romp across the wild and wacky Aussie landscape.
