Dated old-school isometric squad based RPG built for a keyboard and mouse. Fiddly menus, character screens, inventory and poor controls. I get the feeling this could have been done so much better if they would've taken hints from Diablo's port. If you want to play this game stick to the PC version.
I played Wasteland on the PC and I'm several hours into the Director's Cut on the PS4 and I prefer the Director's Cut so far. It looks beautiful and runs super smooth. I did have some trouble with the controlls initially, such as using items on my team members but after a while I got the hang of it.
My only serious gripe is there are very few portraits to use when creating my characters. It seems like they've reserved the best portraits for NPCs and just given the player whats left over. Hopefully they will address this in future updates because it is a pretty big deal.
Other than that the game is great.
Really enjoying this game. Highly recommend watching a few YouTube vids first to get few tips on party creation and basic combat strategy. Wishing I had purchased this a year ago. Playing on PS4. Don't believe some of the negative comments out there around load times – so far they are fine. I'd estimate 100's of hours gameplay here. Just buy it.
