"Decent nostalgia for WCW fans. "

The documentary, which is about two hours long, covers WCW's entire history, and the problem with this is that it rushes over things. It misses out so many good moments and wrestlers that you will feel a little disappointed. More disappointingly, is that the documentary is narrated, so it is just a plethora of interview exerts stung together. The other disappointing thing about the documentary, is that it doesn't feature that many interviews from ex-WCW wrestlers; you will find Goldberg, Dusty Rhodes, Flair, Jericho, but so many big names (such as Sting, Nash, Hall, Macho, Malenko, Steiner) are all missed out.

Although the documentary is a bit disappointing, the twenty matches are much better. Although some of them are a little stale, some are really good, such as Flairs and Stings.

And one of the things which is most annoying about this DVD set, is that it's released by WWE. As a result it is very anti-WCW and very pro-WWE. Also, the entire DVD doesn't feature Chris Benoit anywhere (AND HE WAS ONE OF THE BEST WRESTLERS IN WCW). They could have at least shown a clip of him and mentioned his name, or better included a match of his, but no they want people to think he never existed because of what he did to his family, which I think is quite disrespectful given how much he gave to the wrestling industry.

So overall this DVD set is a bit of a let down, and as such I would only recommend it for true WCW fans.

Well documented and easy to follow layout keeps the doco interesting. Fantastic for those who want to know what really happened, fans and non-fans alike.

Description

In the mid-1990’s, the WWE’s status as the top company in sports-entertainment was challenged to the absolute brink in a heated ratings war. For an 87 week period, World Championship Wrestling and their signature program, Monday Nitro, beat Monday Night Raw in the ratings. By March of 2001, everything came crashing down. Now, for the first time ever, fans can reflect on the history of WCW from those who lived through the rise and the fall with ‘The Rise& Fall Of WCW’.

WCW was home to a multitude of world renowned Superstars who had defected from WWE - Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Randy Savage, Bret Hart- as well as many young stars would go on to greater fame in WWE- Chris Jericho, Rey Mysterio, Eddie Guerrero, Big Show, and more. Find out what it was like to be on the other side, and enjoy a collection of signature WCW matches that turned this promotion into a juggernaut!

The first exclusive WCW, DVD collection! WCW, was an extremely popular wrestling brand in the late 80s and 90s.
