Tommy Lee Jones Triple Pack – One Hollywood superstar. One hot price. Three awesome movies.
IN THE ELECTRIC MIST (2009)
While investigating a series of grisly murders, veteran detective Dave Robichaux
(Tommy Lee Jones) navigates his way through the Louisiana bayou and the dark,
sultry world of New Orleans mobster “Baby Feet” Balboni (John Goodman).
Layers of corruption and long-dead secrets reawaken grudges and a lethal
alliance, deep into the Cajun country's hidden worlds… Stars Tommy Lee Jones,
John Goodman, Peter Sarsgaard, Kelly Macdonald, Mary Steenburgen, Kevin
Costner.
“how a movie as solid, as exciting, and as packed with top talent as "In the Electric Mist” can be tossed a DTV release while lesser films pack the multiplexes remains as deep a mystery to me as the thick whodunits that populate this film's story…A mystery built on texture and tone, “In the Electric Mist” is an excellent thriller that shouldn't go overlooked by fans of the genre…Highly Recommended." THE COMPANY MEN (2010)
Bobby Walker (Ben Affleck) is living the American dream: he has a great job, a
big house, a beautiful family and a shiny Porsche in the garage. But when the
effects of the Global Financial Crisis leave him a victim of corporate
downsizing, Bobby finds himself drowning. Soon Bobby is joined by former
colleagues Phil Woodward (Chris Cooper) and Gene McClary (Tommy Lee Jones) with
all three forced to re-define their lives.
“A small movie, yes, but one with a large, achingly humane theme: the effect of corporate downsizing on the soul as well as the wallet…Wells is a wonder with actors — Cooper and Jones earn top honors — and a filmmaker with an instinct for the emotions that bleed between the lines. This haunting movie hits you hard and right where you live.” Rolling Stone
THE THREE BURIALS OF MELQUIADES ESTRADA (2005)
The body of Mexican Melquiades Estrada is found in a shallow grave in the
desert, where it was hastily buried after being fatally shot by a Border
Patrolman, Mike Norton (Barry Pepper). Making no attempt to solve the crime, the
local Texan authorities rapidly transfer the corpse to a pauper's grave in the
cemetery. Pete Perkins (Tommy Lee Jones), a ranch foreman and Melquiades' best
friend, takes it upon himself to hold Norton accountable. What follows is a
dangerous and quixotic journey into Mexico, to the third burial.
- Nominated Cannes Palme d'Or
- Won Cannes Best Actor Tommy Lee Jones
- Won Ghent International Film Festival Grand Prix
- Won Western Heritage Awards, Outstanding Theatrical Motion Picture
“[A] long, kooky, immensely absorbing picture, which forges the elegiac cruelty of a Cormac McCarthy novel with the two-fisted machismo of a Sam Peckinpah movie, and comes up with an altogether new brand of Western mythology.” Miami Herald
