I read this book on and off for about a year and a half until finally I reached 17 and read it start to finish.
It honestly a brilliant masterpiece.
Everything in it is so perfect, it is a complete must read for nay teenager and is just so full of menaing, struggles and pure innocence that it brought me to tears.
The main character, Charlie is such a pure spirit, he is innocent and nieve, but at the same time ten times smarter and clearer than anyone else around him. He is the beautiful kind of character you just want to pick up and hug and be around twenty four seven. He makes us see things through child like eyes, and grown up all-there-is-to-know-in-life eyes at the same time.
The plot is rich with strong themes, very strong themes, it is serious and deep, heavy and makes you think all day long, but written by beautiful charlie that you can read for hours and time feels nonexistent.
Not only is the plot line and characters amazing, but they way the book is formated is unique and fresh and utterly perfect.
Basically, I am in total love and awe of this book, and since it was so close to me , I dreaded the idea of it becoming a movie but oh em gee it was fabulous, Stephen Chbosky is an absolute genius.
But, as always, READ THE BOOK FIRST.
The poem in it is flawless and you can read the whole novel over and over again, each time finding new meanings and hidden relevances that just give you shiver.
Why are there not more stars to give to this masterpiece!
