"Life changing!"

Such an easy read and gets you utterly pumped up to get rid of your junk! I have a hard time letting go of stuff but found her method easy to follow and the text was a good read.

The actual book quality is lovely with a beautiful case bind and lovely typography throughout. It's smaller than I expected, but this just makes it easier to read in bed!

Very organized method of de-cluttering, it made me face some hard facts and throw out things I have hung on to for years just because I had the space for them Things that no longer gave me pleasure. I have made a great start with my clothes, shoes etc. Next is books, they will almost all go.

Her suggestions are clear cut, her style is very readable. I do not agree with everything the author suggests as she is very unsentimental and, to me, cold and hard, but this book is a good starting point for the hoarder in us that desperately needs to declutter. I bought this book after borrowing a copy from the library (one of over one hundred on the waiting list) as I wanted to be able to refer to it as I needed her advice (and to be able to make notes in the margins). If you are serious about decluttering your home, I would recommend reading this book.

Description

#1 New York Times Best Seller! This best-selling guide to decluttering your home from Japanese cleaning consultant Marie Kondo takes readers step-by-step through her revolutionary KonMari Method for simplifying, organizing, and storing.

Despite constant efforts to declutter your home, do papers still accumulate like snowdrifts and clothes pile up like a tangled mess of noodles? Japanese cleaning consultant Marie Kondo takes tidying to a whole new level, promising that if you properly simplify and organize your home once, you'll never have to do it again.

Most methods advocate a room-by-room or little-by-little approach, which doom you to pick away at your piles of stuff forever. The KonMari Method, with its revolutionary category-by-category system, leads to lasting results. In fact, none of Kondo's clients have lapsed (and she still has a three-month waiting list).

With detailed guidance for determining which items in your house “spark joy” (and which don't), this international bestseller featuring Tokyo's newest lifestyle phenomenon will help you clear your clutter and enjoy the unique magic of a tidy home–and the calm, motivated mindset it can inspire.
