The Girl Who Leapt Through Time is a slower paced animated film with a focus on relationships. Although the story has elements of science fiction, these never really come to the fore and overwhelm the story.
Instead, we follow Makoto through her amusing antics and heart warming dramas as she discovers her unusual secret. It's quite well animated throughout – the art direction never really stood out as sensational but certainly conveys the scenes in a satisfactory manner.
With an ending that most definitely left me fulfilled, it's recommendable for those who want some heart in their anime and like a bit of comedy thrown in.
