"Politically incorrect geography at its best."

Purchased on Mighty Ape

Terry Pratchett has always appealed to me with his whimsical, politically incorrect attitudes. The atlas is good fun and a further credit to a refreshing kind of writer. Amongst his somewhat outrageous scenario developments, there is a current of cool common sense.

Description

Painstakingly compiled under the aegis of the Unseen University’s Department of Cruel and Unusual Geography, The Discworld Atlas is a glorious travellers’ guide to the marvellous world created by Sir Terry Pratchett.

Drawing on myriad sources – from explorers' journals and prospectors' maps to archives of the great libraries and reports of merchants and missionaries alike – this stunning work brings to life the lands and locations of the Discworld stories in a way never seen before. Accompanied by lavish full-colour illustrations and a detailed world map, this is a must-have for any Discworld fan.

Author Biography:

Terry Pratchett was the acclaimed creator of the global bestselling Discworld series, the first of which, The Colour of Magic, was published in 1983. In all, he was the author of over fifty bestselling books which have sold over 100 million copies worldwide. His novels have been widely adapted for stage and screen, and he was the winner of multiple prizes, including the Carnegie Medal. He was awarded a knighthood for services to literature in 2009, although he always wryly maintained that his greatest service to literature was to avoid writing any. www.terrypratchettbooks.com
