"A birthday in the life of a teenager"

Purchased on Mighty Ape

Another brilliant John Hughes ‘coming of age’ story. Samantha Baker is horrified when her family forgets her 16th birthday, and gets through a crazy day to find that turning 16 isn't so bad after all. Sounds corny, I know, but John Hughes films are well known for being very relatable to adults and teenagers alike and for the kind of stories and characters you remember yourself when you were that young. Thoroughly enjoyable, great music and a great ending. Highly reccommended!

Description

Samantha's life is going downhill fast. The fifteen-year-old has a crush on the most popular boy in school, and the geekiest boy in school has a crush on her. Her sister's getting married, and with all the excitement the rest of her family forgets her birthday! Add all this to a pair of horrendously embarrassing grandparents, a foreign exchange student named Long Duc Dong, and we have the makings of a hilarious journey into young womanhood.
