You're asking me how a watch works. For now we'll just keep an eye on the time.

"Frustrating"

I liked this movie but I found it frustrating throughout. Them and their motives I understood but does that make it right what they were doing. Plus I couldn't understand why she was so dense, she was supposed to be intelligent but throughout she kept asking stupid questions. Watchable but frustrating.

"Genuinely disturbing and suspenseful"
5 stars"

It is a rare treat these days to find a movie of this type that takes the time to create an atmosphere and tension through slightly slower than normal pacing and its stunning cinematography. The action sequences alone are genuinely suspenseful, hard hitting and realistic…(it would be nice to think the big Hollywood studios might start making more drama and action films of this ilk and less of the shallower, far fetched, overblown variety…but that is probably hoping against hope when so many people keep paying to see them)…

Overall, I found ‘Sicario’ to be a more satisfying cinematic experience than either of the other two big budget, similarly styled films (‘No Country for Old Men’ and the ‘The Counselor’) that touch on the brutality and ruthlessness of drug war/trade on the US/Mexico border and those involved in it, both of which leaned too far toward the pretentious, arthouse side of the equation for my liking (I know many people prefer that kind of thing, but I'm not a fan of Cormack McCarthy's work as a whole)…

Description

In Mexico, Sicario means hitman. In the lawless border area stretching between the U.S. and Mexico, an idealistic FBI agent is enlisted by an elite government task force official to aid in the escalating war against drugs. Led by an enigmatic consultant with a questionable past, the team sets out on a clandestine journey forcing Kate to question everything that she believes in order to survive.

Reviews

“An unforgettable motion picture that should be on the must-see list for anyone who appreciates films that deal in grays rather than blacks and whites.” – Reelviews

“By the end, it packs a death stare so potent it will make you want to turn a blind eye to the shadowy brutality of its real-world horrors.” – Detroit News

“This is not the first movie about the war being waged across the U.S.-Mexico border over the drug trade, but it's the first film in which the aura of constant menace and threat lingers and follows you home.” – Miami Herald
