A rollicking, revisionist Western from Simon Wincer (Lonesome Dove, The Lighthorsemen), Quigley Down Under captures the spirit and romance of an era where cowboys would ride hard, shoot sharp and dip their hats to the sun. Travelling from Montana to Australia with only a saddle and his prized six-foot long Sharps rifle, American sharp-shooter Matthew Quigley (Tom Selleck, Blue Bloods) is under the impression that he has been hired to despatch wild dogs and vermin from a cattle station. Instead he is assigned to murder and “eliminate” Aborigines from a wealthy cattle baron's land, forcing Quigley to make a moral stand and go from hunter to hunted – with evil gunslinger Elliot Marston (Alan Rickman, The Harry Potter series) hot on his trail. Forced to take up arms against his former employer, Quigley sets out to prove that no one gets the best of a steely-eyed gun-fighter, no one except the mysterious and beauty Crazy Cora (Laura San Giacomo, Pretty Woman) who rides by his side and into his heart.
