"Fantastic game!"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

A great game, I found it to be very fun, but for those hardcore gamers, maybe not so much. It is easy to do, but it is still entertaining. Not for a minute was I bored when I played this! The story line is fun, and for the younger ages, it will be a very good game, in fact, anyone like myself who loves Pokemon. This game has great graphics, and easy controls. Even when the plot has finished there are still things to do, and places to explore. I think it's a game worth playing :)

"A fun and addictive game, though not as good as it should be."

Purchased on Mighty Ape

After playing Pokepark Wii, which I found quite fun and addictive, I wasn't going to think twice about purchasing Pokepark 2. Like it's predecessor, it offers a fun and pleasant gameplay, with the added feature of being able to play as a different pokemon (not meaning to sound anti-pikachu, but I have a love-hate relationship with the little rodent – his cuteness and awesomeness is heavily contradicted by his corporately-made popularity). I personally chose Snivy for the main gameplay.

Despite being a fun game, and interesting story plot with fantastic areas (my favourite was the Arcane Area), the story itself felt too basic and was too straight-forward, and far too short for my liking. The limited number of attractions (four) pales in comparison to the many more in Pokepark 1, which I felt disappointed in.

A more in-depth story would have brought this game to it's full potential, as well as side stories which could or could not have had any ties to the main storyline. And adding more attractions would have definitely made this game a greater success in my opinion – I would have gladly waited an extra year for this game if these elements were improved upon.

Overall, this is a fantastic game, quite fun to play, and the main story itself (albeit short) is an intriguing one. Just don't set your expectation bar too high, and you'll love this game.

Description

Control one of four Pokémon characters in PokéPark 2: Wonders Beyond, Pikachu, Oshawott, Snivy and Tepig, all with unique abilities that will help you in your quest. Each of Pikachu’s Pokémon Pals’ unique skills could prove vital if you are to save the missing Pokémon from the trance of the mysterious world: Pikachu’s Electric-type moves can help you to activate devices on the way; Oshawott has the ability to move through water; Snivy can move faster and jump higher than the other Pokémon, and Tepig can destroy obstacles on your quest.

This wide range of skills allows Pikachu and his Pals to adapt to almost any environment or situation, with easy-to-use controls that make PokéPark 2: Wonders Beyond a game that young Pokémon fans and beginners can enjoy just as much as PokéPark veterans.

Pikachu, Oshawott, Snivy and Tepig aren’t the only Pokémon you will get to know on your mysterious journey as there are nearly 200 other Pokémon that you can befriend to lend you a hand on your adventure, including many from the Unova region. The other Pokémon can challenge you to games where you may have to battle multiple opponents, play a game of hide-and-seek, partake in a game of chase or even compete in a quiz. Take on these Pokémon to prove your skills and they will reward you by becoming your friend and helping you on your quest to save the Pokémon.

While searching for Pikachu and his Pals, you will encounter Attractions, guarded by a Boss Pokémon. Once you have completed the Attraction, you will have to battle the Boss! You will have a choice of which of the four playable Pokémon you wish to use in the battle, but choose wisely as a particular Pokémon’s unique strengths may be best suited to the battle and would therefore give you a greater chance of success.
