Plastic Egg – Beige (and the size of the packaging it arrived in) far exceeded my expectations. One might assume that one ovular object is much like another, but this would not appear to be the case where Gallus gallus domesticus is concerned. I had previously tried to entice my chickens to give up their precious golden treasures with trickery and deception, resorting to spherical impostors such as golf and ping pong balls. Results were mediocre at best, and I am certain that some members of my small flock had their suspicions (especially Gandalf, who may have been small but was much smarter than the others). This egg is for want of a better word, perfect. It is of medium size, egg-shaped as per spec and slightly mattified making it an exceedingly realistic imitation. The arrival of this egg in our coop was greeted curiously and several of the resident ladies tried to adopt it as their own. It has encouraged them to attempt to produce glorious little siblings to accompany it only to find that it stoically remains in the nest box, while we set about our breakfast. Would highly recommend this egg without reservation to anyone wishing to thoroughly deceive their chickens.
