New to DVD, the complete legendary 1995 recital from London’s Royal Albert Hall
“Luciano Pavarotti has always shown the most abundant generosity of spirit, a delight not only in sharing with the widest possible public his own wonderful voice and the music he loves, but also in bringing together fellow artists whom he admires.”
On 8th May 1995, in the presence of Diana, Princess of Wales, Pavarotti led a sell-out gala concert at the Royal Albert Hall in support of the British Red Cross.
Originally broadcast on the BBC (presented by James Naughtie) before its subsequent release on CD and VHS, this re-issue marks this concert’s first appearance on DVD.
An exceptional line-up of singers under conductor Leone Magiera includes Natalie Dessay, Leo Nucci and Giuseppe Sabbatini as well as regular Pavarotti duet partner Nuccia Focile.
Great Verdi arias from Aida, Otello and Rigoletto dominate the generous programme which also contains hit arias from Gounod’s Faust, Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin and Puccini’s La Bohème.
