I'm specifically a PC gamer but I brought a Wii U out of interest and for party multiplayer. The console is great fun and the line up at E3 ensures there is still more fun to be had.
This is a great console for both old/new gamers.
I have a fondness for old Nintendo titles from the NES and SNES eras – to my delight, the virtual console eshop gives buyers access to old school games at an affordable price. The likes of Super Mario World for SNES is absolutely amazing – and under $15!
If you think the ‘next gen’ only belongs to PS4, PC and Xbox, add the Wii u to your list. The Wii u did come out earlier, but more than competes. I'm getting more fun from this than my ps4 and PC.
The screen on the gamepad allows you to play games without the tv which rivals the ps4/vita streaming screen functionality. Consider buying the wii u over ps4/vita.
