Munchkin: Loot Letter is an evolved presentation of the highly rated 2012 “Love Letter” card game. To me this version is even better, to some it's cranking out the same rules with a different skin.
To my mind, these same rules with a new skin is the high point. The “Love Letter” mechanic is fun and elegant in it's simplicity (only 16 cards!-) while the theme underwhelms me (a bit lovey dovey for my liking). Where-as the original Munchin board game has an awesome theme, while the mechanic just doesn't quite deliver… “Loot Letter” takes the awesome, fun theme of Munchkin and overlays this on top a fantastic pocket sized card game.
If you don't have a version of “Love letter”, get this one… If you do, this version adds the fun theme from Munchkin, but be aware, it is exactly the same mechanic as the original “Love Letter” so, aside from different card art there is no difference in play.
In short: The “Love Letter” game is awesome, and cannot fathom how it's so good with only 16 cards… But it is! On top of this, this is my pick of the bunch for the Love Letter spin-offs themes due to three words: Killer Potted Plants! – ENJOY! :)
