"Awesome but..."

I hired the game and found it awesome but it doesn't take long to clock since its only a prologue, love you mightyape but even 70 bux is way tu meke for this game, 35 would be good.

"Surprisingly addictive"
5 stars"

While it is true that the ‘main campaign’ is rather short, the gameplay itself is incredibly addictive, challenging, and rewarding. The multitude of side missions and collectible gives the game value enough to justify the price, while the need it creates to play through each mission perfectly, extends the play time to that of any other triple A title.

While the game does require a small level of investment in order to grasp the mechanics properly, you are presented with a game of skill and stealth bound to get your adrenaline pumping.

I heartily recommend.

"Definitely not worth the asking price... Its a demo."
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

I am a Metal Gear fan and have been ever since 1999 when I first played Metal Gear Solid (1998). Even though I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with this DEMO, it is NOT worth the asking price. Konami have set an incredibly dangerous precedent with this release and I sincerely hope this form of ‘game drip-feeding’ for $$$ does not set a template for other game studios to follow. If it retailed for $15–25 then I would praise it… But, at the end of the day, is just a glorified DEMO which capitalises on the fans of the series. I tried to cancel my pre-order but obviously I failed to do so.

Gameplay wise – it has taken the Metal Gear franchise to a whole new level, evolving from that of MGS4. I must concede that I have not played any of the Splinter Cell games since the very first one but I can see that there are some mechanics which have been borrowed from SC Blacklist. I cannot compare the two games directly as I have yet to play Blacklist, but from the game play videos I have watched, there are some striking similarities. Metal Gear games have always featured awkward control schemes. However, by looking to its peers in the stealth genre, MGSGZ has taken on board some of their ideas and made them their own.

I am still not sold on games running at 60FPS as I tend to feel it makes games feel less ‘weighty’ and too fluid. I prefer 30FPS as I tend to like latency and a more visceral experience that a lower frame rate tends to bring forth.

I have the PS4 version of the game. This DEMO does however give a great insight to what we can expect when the Phantom Pain gets released in due time. Its just a shame that the asking price was so high and that is through no fault of Mighty Ape.

"Overpriced"
3 stars"

Bit disappointing. Graphics were good but took only 58mins to finish ground zeroes. I wouldn't bother buying until the rest of the game is available

"SHORT"
1 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

I read other reviews prior to purchasing this game, all said it was good but short and as such over priced. I went a head and purchased it anyway as I am a fan of the MG franchise. It was however true to the reviews – SHORT! It took me around an hour to complete and I am not a hardcore gamer. No value for money here. The game itself was nothing special, but the fact it was so short made things even worse. I wouldn't recommend purchasing this title.

"Normally we get the VR Missions after the main game"

Now we get MGSV Bonus Missions before MGSV even comes out. What is this world coming to-

The game looks damn pretty, and while yes, the titular mission is a bit short, the rest of the game is still chunky, and odds are you'll drop at least 20 hours on this to clock it. Probably more. If you're any sort of fan of the series, you might appreciate the missions that aren't GZ.

People have spent more on far less.

If you think the new engine's going to give you grief, or want to whet your ear-whistles with Kiefer Sutherland's Big Boss voice-acting, this is a good litmus test. If you can't wait for MGSV: The Phantom Pain, enjoy or just want to be able to run about like you know what you're doing on launch day, this is also for you.

"To expensive and to short."

Great graphics and gameplay, but way to short for the amount of money it costs.

The full game should be really good.
