This is a brilliant show. It feels like disturbingly accurate prediction of just where we might go if we had humanoid robots in our lives, our homes. It makes us look as much at human nature as it does make us think about the robots in our lives.

This is a brilliant show. It feels like disturbingly accurate prediction of just where we might go if we had humanoid robots in our lives, our homes. It makes us look as much at human nature as it does make us think about the robots in our lives.
What makes us human? Can a synthetic creation ever think and feel the way we do? And if so, what do we do about it? Humans takes these questions and turns them into both a hair-raising thriller, and a rumination on the nature of humanity. Set in a “parallel present”, Humans imagines a world where people live alongside synthetic beings that can clean your house, cook your dinner or even check your blood pressure. And although the series clearly suggests that some of these Synths are more than mindless cans filled with wires and code, the dread stems from just how un-sci-fi this world feels now that our phones talk to us and help us organise our life.
