The Anteater Team consists of online game fanatics from Ooarai Girls High School. The team operates a Japanese Type 3 Chi-Nu which was found by Miho and the Rabbit Team on a parking lot, having been earlier ignored because it seemed non-functional; it was later painted with an image of an anteater. Together with the Lion Team, they became the last-minute addition to Ooarai's lineup prior to the final round of the Sensha-dou tournament.

Girls und Panzer is a 2012 Japanese anime television series created by Actas. It depicts a competition between girls' high schools practicing tank warfare as a sport. The series was directed by Tsutomu Mizushima and produced by Kiyoshi Sugiyama. Takaaki Suzuki, who has earlier acted as a military history advisor for Strike Witches and Upotte!!, was involved in the production of the anime
