I was ready to judge the heck out of this film because I knew these were the people behind the upcoming Ratchet and Clank movie, but wow it was really entertaining. All the voice actors are flawless, the animation is perfect and the story and characters are just so good! People give Dreamworks and Pixar passes on all their failures, but pay no attention to other studios turning ouyt stellar content! This is a must have family film!

Description

Escape From Planet Earth

Escape from Planet Earth is a 2013 Canadian computer animated family film produced by Rainmaker Entertainment, and directed by Cal Brunker.

A master of daring rescues, Scorch pulls off astonishing feats with the quiet aid of his nerdy, by-the-rules brother, Gary (Rob Corddry), head of mission control at BASA. When BASA's no-nonsense chief Lena (Jessica Alba) informs the brothers of an SOS from a notoriously dangerous planet, Scorch rejects Gary's warnings and bounds off for yet another exciting mission. But when Scorch finds himself caught in a fiendish trap set by the evil Shanker (William Shatner) it's up to scrawny, risk-adverse Gary to do the real rescuing.

Critic Reviews:

  • " This is very much by-numbers pre-teen fare, spiced up by the sound of William Shatner enjoying himself. " – Mark Kermode
  • " Its secret weapon is a satirically inclined script, reworked by Stephen Fry among others, that disrupts the general factory-line vibe with regular funny lines. " – Mike McCahill
  • " Outside of a couple of brief lulls, there isn't much to complain about. " – Sarah Gopaul
