"20 MILLION THUMBS UP, PERIOD!"

I always have hard time playing FPS games on console contralpad; from my point of view, mouse + keyboard is the way. So when I realized the gameplay of Dying Light is something like first person POV, I was like “NOOOOO~!” But my love towards zombie movies, zombie games, and zombie girls (-) asks me to give this game a go, because it is a game set scene in a zombie la-la land. So I did it, I bought the game on day one, spent good ten hours playing/merging myself into the world of Harran, and its horror undead nightmare. That I can tell you, I was very very satisfied. The world is amzingly real (looks real and feels real, virtually), the background music is fantastic, and of course the zombie hunting/running/dodging is fabulous. I myself like to play safe, so I spent most of my time running, jumping from buildings to buildings. Only, occasionally, I found my pipe landed on some poor zombie heads. The parkour side of the game, from my point of view, is awesome. Imagine playing Assassin's Creed in first person POV, that is what I experience. The fighting part is also nice, although I haven't unlocked many other advanced moves/killer moves, but from what I experienced so far, pipes and bats on zombie jaws and heads, it is almost like what I can imagine if I was caught in a zombie apocalypse. The point is how many of us can actually deliver back flip, side flip and then high kick/side punch to the neck kind of moves in a real zombie situation- Well, Not me. And I am sure for most of us will simply/instinctly swing whatever we can get around us, bats, pipes, hammers, dumb bars and name a few more if you like. To sum up, it is a game you must try. If you are a zombie fan, if you enjoy games like Dead Island or the good old Left4Dead series, YOU THEN HAVE TO HAVE THIS GAME!

Note: *Loading time is reasonable. I hardly found myself getting bored while waiting. Talk about loading time, If you played Evolve, you will experience lot of eye-rolling moments.

*The only down side I spot so far is the bad lip syncing during cut scenes. Oh and I don't think this game offers top resolution on Xbox ONE, which is shame unfortunately.

Description

Dying Light is a first-person, action survival horror game set in a vast and dangerous open world. During the day, players traverse an expansive urban environment overrun by a vicious outbreak, scavenging the world for supplies and crafting weapons to defend against the growing infected population. At night, the hunter becomes the hunted, as the infected become aggressive and more dangerous. Most frightening are the predators which only appear after sundown. Players must use everything in their power to survive until the morning’s first light.

Good Night. Good Luck.

Features:

  • Survive the Night – During the day, players roam free and scavenge for supplies and weapons. But at night, the world undergoes a deadly transformation: the hunter becomes the hunted as the infected grow more aggressive and numerous, and something far more sinister awakens to stalk its prey.
  • Free Running Movement – Whether tracking prey or escaping predators, Dying Light lets players swiftly navigate the world by seamlessly leaping between buildings, grappling up walls and pouncing on unsuspecting enemies.
  • Welcome to the Quarantine – Dying Light is set in a vast open world, delivering expansive and varied environments, a wide variety of enemy classes and a hopeless tale of survival where resources are scarce and the infected are not the only threat.
  • Brutal Melee and Ranged Combat – get up-close using a variety of light and heavy weapons including knives, bats, axes, sledgehammers and more exotic weaponry or utilise guns and other firepower to take down enemies from a distance.
  • Choose Your Play Style – Dying Light features four playable characters that can be fully customised and upgraded to match any play style.
  • Craft Your Weapon – Why use a wrench when you can use a wrench wrapped in electrified barb wire? Dying Light’s sizeable crafting system enables players to create a slew of new, more potent weapons and equipment, as well as specialised ammunition.
  • Breathtaking Visuals and Gameplay – Dying Light is the first game powered by Chrome Engine 6, a cutting edge incarnation of Techland’s proprietary technology, designed from the ground up for the new console generation, DirectX 11 and other advanced solutions.
