If you have the sort of child who doesn't actually need to have this kind of safety measure, then this will do the trick and might confuse the adults in the house. However, I have two very determined 3 year old and two fridges. My boy broke one latch within less than 24 hours by meticulously peeling at the backing when I wasn't looking. The second latch has stayed on the fridge, however, I've found that it's useless as the fridge door isn't flush with the side of the fridge. It worked on that one for about a day but it didn't take long for it to relax a bit and the kiddies can now open it at will. More smashed eggs to clean up :(
