This controller reacts very well, is nicely weighted and fits into your hand very comfortably (lot more comfortable than usual controller). As a general controller it is a good buy, but if you are a Dr Who fan then this is a thrill to own and something you will truely treasure (and not want to share). Easily recharged, nicely presented and a joy to use – what more can you ask for! Am hoping to save up for another one – his & hers.

IT SUCKS!!!! I Spent 3 Months waiting for it (I am NOT kidding!) then it wouldn't work (and still doesn't). it works, IF IT'S PERMANENTLY PLUGGED IN!!!! THE STUPID THING WON'T CHARGE NO MATTER WHAT!!!! I got a replacement, AND THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED!!! One guy bought 4 of them, AND THEY WERE ALL DUDS!!! JUST GET A REGULAR REMOTE!!! AT LEST THEY WORK!!!!
I bought this a few weeks ago and am very happy with it. This 11th doctors sonic screwdriver is a must have for any doctor who fan. The remote looks authentic and responds perfectly to motion. Would definitely recommend :)
Perfect for any Dr Who fan!! Anniversary present for hubby … works wonderfully as a wii mote! Has rechargable batteries included which recharge through the USB cable. Would definitely recommend this!
Apparantly charging issues are a common problem with this product. I've seen plenty of people on the internet talking about how it wont charge for them, and I ha the same issue. It charges, basically, when plugged in and also turned on. So you can plug it in and use it, but since it comes with a far too tiny cord, this isn't really an option. The only alternative is to sit there and continually synch it to the wii every 5 minutes to stop it going into sleep mode and stopping charging. For hours. Not much of an alternative.
Returning this product ASAP and getting a regular wiimote.
If you love the Wii and love Doctor Who (specifically, Matt Smith's 11th incarnation), get this item. For yourself, for your friend! =)
Works a bit better than a classic remote and it's 1012 more geek cred.
There's something right about using it with my haxed up Wii to play Doctor Who via WiiMC.
found this to be brilliant :) does not take long to charge, the kids absolutely love it as they are right into the Dr, but what made me buy another 2 recently was the fact that its rechargable via usb (computer or the wii itself – even on standby) & it does not take very long to charge up. Great buy for anyone :)
It's a great Wii-mote in the shape of a Dr Who sonic screw driver. Charges through a USB port, the charge lasts for about 2 hours and you can play while plugged into the USB charger. It's comfortable and looks good!
Really wanted this to work with the Dr Who Wii game I purchased but after 3 attempts with different Sonic Screwdriver remotes I could still not get them to charge. In the end we have been left with a toy for my son.
This has to be the most awesome addition to any Doctor Who fan's Wii system. It's a lot lighter than the standard Wii controller and takes a bit to adjust but it just looks sooooo cooool!!! Would have been even more betterer :) if the end glowed green, but what does it matter. You can even use it to “scan” anything you like just as the Doctor would do, and then make up some nonesense as would the good ole Doc. I tried scanning my wife and when I inspected the “results” I made the comment Hmmm no intelligent life. Apparently I can move back in next week :) Get one of these!
The BBC commissioned this remote to go with their Wii game, Doctor Who: Return To Earth, but is not limited to this game. It is a well built replica of the Matt Smith/11th Doctor's Sonic Screwdriver, and functions perfectly as a general purpose Wii remote.
The build quality is excellent, feeling solid and well weighted in the hand. Functionally it seems indistinguishable from the original Wii remote. It is responsive and accurate, and makes a good replacement for the original.
The only down side is that it won't fit into any of the common plastic holders, such as the Mario Kart steering wheel. You'll need to use a standard remote if you want to use these. Nor is it comfortable for using like a D-Pad controller – holding it sideways is not a good ergonomic fit.
In all other regards this is good value, and a must-have if you are into the Dr. Who series.
Works just as a wii remote should, with the bonus of being easy to charge. Good weight and easy to use and configure. Well worth the purchase price.
Great Value. Works really well. Comfortable to use.
Great remote but he battery was stuffed, once repaced battery worked perfectly
Comfortable to hold and MOST impressive recharge time. A great addition to my Wii accessories and appeals to my Doctor Who geek side.
Wonderful to use – especially with a Dr Who Wii game – adds that bit of extra imagination and excitement. Found it a bit tricky to set up in the beginning but once that was accomplished was away laughing. We would recommend this to any Dr Who fan :-)
My daughter has been tring to charge the remote since she opened it yesterday, we have followed all instructions but it will not charge for us, please any help would be appreciated. (we have tried syncing it etc and keeping the wii going while trying to charge it but still no luck)
The perfect item for use on wii . Absolutly awesome
This remote looks awesome, and the fact it doesn't use batteries, instead being charged by USB, is really useful. However, I've found that you need to be quite a way back from your TV for it to pick up where you're pointing and if you're using games that don't use the motion stuff, the B button is too close to the D-Pad, so you keep accidentally hitting it.
I bought it when it was really cheap on sale, so I can't really complain. Definitely wouldn't pay the full price for it though.
Yayyy, I love my sonic wii controller. It fits in your hand comfortably and looks great. A must have for all Dr Who fans. Everyone always tries to pinch it to play wii, but it's mine!!!!!!!!!
A great gimmick, quite usable, (actually mildly more practical than the standard one). Well packaged.
I bought this and don't even own the Dr Who game, but the kids find this easier to hold than the normal remote so it is a hit in our house.
i found that this particular wii remote is amazing and it works just as well as a normal wii remote. it's an awesome controller and makes playing docter who on nintendo wii that much cooler then with out it.
This wii remote is so super cool!, if your a docter who fan its a must have!!! Easy to use with good grip. I know I shouldnt but I think I look pretty cool with this remote lol!
if you're a huge DW fan like me, and you have a Wii then you have to get this. I find I like using it more than the regular Wii-motes as its slightly longer. The only thing it lacks is the sonic sound!
A wicked remote for the diehard dr who fan. It is excellent having a built in battery, you can be sure that no one else has one. A great buy
This product is great for Doctor Who fans who play Wii.
A great addition to the Wii… A must for all wannabe Dr's
For the total Doctor Who fan, who can go without a Sonic Screwdriver! But to have it as a Wii remote is just pure awesome!
Totally love it!
One sentence summary says it all!
This is a well made hard plastic Wii Remote, works just like the real thing, although I did have a few problems with the ‘B’ button. It's shaped just like Matt Smith's screwdriver, and although it doesn't light up, I still had great fun using it!
Not much to say, rechargeable remote, weak speaker, fun toy. Worth the $30 I paid, definitely.
Works exactly like the normal wii remote, very easy to charge via usb, and is compatible with all the normal wii addons like wii plus and classic controller! Comfortable to hold and looks great!
