Deus Ex: Human Revolution reviews

An intriguing storyline, and a unique interpretation of the future, the game is fulfilling in some aspects, and distinctly lacking in others.

The storyline is complex and intriguing, and the multiple methods of solving problems are varied and unique for the most part, but after some practice, become fairly obvious later on. Elegant in its pacing, the game however can seem forced and sometimes, for the sake of avoiding repetition, awfully convenient (see pickup helicopter landing about 10 meters away from a missions main objective, but only upon completion).

The character development is lacking, the number of augmentations mean the variation in final character is limited, with probably 2 distinct character experiences to be had. The social methods do add to this though, as they can make parts of the game simple, or very hard.

An elegant style of gameplay, they have worked hard to make an FP-RPG that has character and a powerful story, just not quite the finished product in terms of openness and variety.

Cheers once again Mighty Ape. The game's great and it was on sale. It cost nearly $50 more at the shops :)

This game is an excellent example of the rpg genre. Its clever, intelligent stroyline provides a unique setting, which is backed up by some solid gameplay. Some flaws do let it down in places, such as a slightly restrained open world and the boss battles, but overall this game is definitely worth a look, and will provide plenty of entertainment for fans of rpg's.

Awesome gameplay, awesome story, awesome graphics overall just awesome I'd only change 1 thing though and that would be allowing for multiple playthroughs pn the same character, thereby allowing for all the abilities to be unlocked but i'd still give it 5/5

The game is very fun, running around china stabbing people, but the game was a bit to short. Basically they creators couldn't fit so much awesome on to one disc

I have completed most of this game and is one of the most interesting games as far as a great story goes. Solid gameplay and a lot of fun to play, catering for run and gunners and stealhy spys. would reccomend this as a solid 8/10

Not only is this one of the games of the year but i got overnight delivery. I bought this game 3 weeks ago and it got broken by my little brother. Gutted of course but thatnks to mighty ape i ordered yesterday and it was in the mailbox first thing this morning. If you are a fan of games like splinter cell or the playstation hits Syphon Filter you will love this game. Deus Ex blows away the competition. BUY IT NOW!!!!

A great balance between metal gear solid style espionage and sneaking missions and shoot em up game. Heaps of gameplay time and always a challenge. Great game

As Deus Ex was one of my favourite games when it came out and since I was worried that they wouldn't get HR right. However, they have managed to capture the spirit of the original and bring it up to date, with enough throwbacks and shoutouts to it to reward fans.

The combat can be challenging at times but the multiple play styles are rewarding and going the extra mile to explore and find alternative routes and attack angles can really reward you with bonus ammo, codes, world information and xp.

The augmentation system is nicely varied with a combination of stealth, aggression, and utility allowing you to really play the game how you want.

The hacking minigame is fun and engaging however sometimes it can be frustrating when you are unable to complete a mission because you haven't spent enough on your hacking skill.

Definitely worth buying and playing through.

With in depth game play and outstanding visuals, this game has got to be one of the best I've played this year. With Stealth aspects to match any Splinter Cell and action enough to satisfy even the most trigger happy of gamers, Deus Ex is a must have for the collection.

Fun gameplay, interesting story, and tons to do. Plenty of replay value. Hours and hours of gameplay.

The only thing that got me down was the slightly underpar speech animation.

If you enjoyed the first game (if you haven't played it yet, you should), then you'll have a blast!

Get it, good fps and rpg elements. Dodgy face graphics but who cares.

If you have played any of the fallout series then this game should seem fairly similar. It's a mix of a broad, open RPG with good stealth mechanics.

There are a couple of problems, one being the boss fights not fitting in with the theme of the rest of the game. But they are easily overlooked when you consider you spend 95% of the time in the sprawling open world, taking it at your own pace!

Awesome!! Play the game as an assassain and destroy everyone or as master-theif; fully undetected, but dont worry you can still knock everyone out. Great level-up system and intense gameplay.

Spend the most part of yesterday on this game and enjoyed every minute of it (well, except of the loading time). So many choices to make, so much freedom. I think this game will occupy most of my gaming time until Skyrim comes out :-)

Couldnt quite get into this game and eventually stopped playing without completing it. Storyline just didnt hook me and after reading good reviews online was quite disappointed.

To start: I love this game. It is fun, cinematic, immersive and generally a good romp. How can you not love a game which allows you to see/smash through walls or turn invisible. However, there are several flaws/ design choices that prevent this game being a true great. A limited inventory is infuriating, made worse by lack of a home base to store awesome loot. Also vexing is some of the character texures early in the game – a little blocky to say the least. Despite this I would strongly recommend this game to anyone that loves a story driven action RPG.

Really enjoyed this one. 3rd and 1st person camera swapping takes some getting used to but as usual the different character builds allow for good multiple replays
