Description

This exceptional piano trio recording marks the Rattle debut of Jonathan Crayford. The album was recorded by Mike Marciano at Systems Two in New York City, and features Ben Street on bass and Dan Weiss on drums, two of the most remarkable (and highly in demand) of the new generation of New York jazz musicians. Born in 1964, New Zealand pianist Jonathan Crayford began playing piano at the age of 3. At 18 he was composing music for feature films, several of which received industry awards. His work today spans many different genres and disciplines, and in many different parts of the world, including Australasia, Europe, Brazil, Spain, America (particularly New York) and Cuba. He currently lives in Paris, but regularly returns to New Zealand.
