The beginning of a British comedy tradition, 1958 marked the birth of Carry On, a classic genre of British parody, double entendre and slapstick unto itself.
The men's surgical ward of the Haven Hospital is staffed by efficient hardworking nurses dedicated to their job. But nothing prepares them for the antics of the patients in their care – driven to distraction by practical jokes and all manner of mischief. Indeed, visiting hours provide the only reprieve, restoring order to the ward. But when one visitor sneaks a bottle of champagne into the ward, it's only a matter of time before sides are split and the hospital is in hysterics.
