Passable movie
Cargo is a 2009 Swiss science fiction thriller, written and directed by Ivan Engler.
An ecological collapse on earth has seen the human population take to an orbital existence aboard a fleet of intergalactic space stations. Rumour had it that a distant habitable planet exists in the outer realms and CARGO concerns the intense and atmospheric journey one crew embarks on in order to find paradise. None of them, however, will ever be the same.

Reviews
“Woven from threads similar to Alien, Moon, and the Soviet masterpiece Solaris, Cargo is a profound achievement that successfully merges story with spectacle, something that eludes most science fiction filmmaking.” Sound on Sight
“..Cargo is exceedingly watchable thanks to an excellent cast, especially Schwarbroh and the reverently named Samuel Decker played by Martin Rapold. It is in its atmosphere where Cargo excels rarely showing anything but still making the viewer feel tense and on edge at all times. Cargo is a satisfying slice of Swiss sci-fi with excellent effects and a horror thriller edge that certainly elevates it above other offerings.” LoveHorror.com
“Sci-fi nuts will find much to enjoy here – not least the exceptional visuals which put to shame many bigger budgeted films. CARGO is a film to savour!” Darkmatters
“Made for a very low budget, though you wouldn’t know…I was hoping for good things with Cargo and I got way more than expected..I had originally expected a sort of creature flick along the lines of Aliens but the movie has more in common with The Matrix. Even making that comparison is probably revealing too much about the flick but don’t worry, it’s not The Matrix in space. It is a very smart and tense flick with heaps of great atmosphere and amazing performances. The movie looks incredible as well with gorgeous shots of space and some very large interiors on their ship.” FilmReel.com
