The two programmes on this DVD were recorded in 1966 and 1967. ‘The Seekers at Home’, their first TV special, was filmed in Australia during their first trip home after becoming wildly popular abroad. ‘The Seekers Down Under’ (1967), described on the sleeve as a one hour spectacular, was filmed on location around Australia. The music is complemented by the scenes from locations around Australia.

Between both programmes all of the Seekers, early hits are featured. Many of the songs are the wonderful Tom Springfield hits such as ‘Georgy Girl’, ‘The Carnival is Over’, ‘A World of Our Own’, ‘I'll Never Find Another You’ and my personal favourite ‘The Olive Tree’.

Judith Durham in an interview in 2000 remarked that one of the things that set the group apart from many of their contemporaries was that the music they sang could be called wholesome – and that it showed that this sort of music did have a huge audience. As a young mother I enjoyed singing many of their songs with my children.

This DVD does show its age in that there are none of the big production values that we are used to seeing on modern videos however this actually means that the music takes centre stage. The music itself sounds as fresh as it did when the Seekers burst on to the international scene. I can recommend this DVD.
