"Not a good movie."
2 stars"

Throughout the whole movie, you only see the monsters once, and it lasts for a millisecond. The entire movie looks at how the astronomers went crazy.

"A good addition to the "Found Footage" genre."
3 stars"

Being a fan of the “Found Footage” genre, I was interested to see this because it was something different. Its done really well, the production values are high and the acting is very good. The scenes on the moon look very realistic as do the scenes in the space craft. It builds tension by not showing the threat directly, its always just at the corner of your eye and seen in a flash. Also, on the Blu-Ray (not sure if they are on the DVD) are some interesting deleted scenes and multiple alternative endings that was worth looking at to see the way the film could have gone if they had of been added. So, we worth a look if you enjoy the first person/found footage films.

Overused concept of found footage, which could have been a good idea if better executed. No suspense, and a boring ending.

Description

Apollo 18

Officially, Apollo 17, launched on December 17th, 1972, was the last manned mission to the moon. But a year later, in December of 1973, two American astronauts were sent on a secret mission to the moon funded by the US Department of Defense.

What you are about to see is the actual footage which the astronauts captured on that mission. While NASA denies its authenticity, others say it’s the real reason we’ve never gone back to the moon.

Decades-old found footage from NASA’s abandoned Apollo 18 mission, where two American astronauts were sent on a secret expedition, reveals the reason the U.S. has never returned to the moon.

Critic Reviews:

  • " The ‘found footage’ horror movie Apollo 18 recycles the premise of The Blair Witch Project on the moon and still manages a few good scares. " – Sean Kernan
  • " If you can push past the suspension of disbelief, it's a pretty eerie ride. " – Kevin Carr
  • " There are a couple of moments here that are as marrow-freezing as anything in Blair Witch or Paranormal Activity. " – Calvin Baxter
