"Worth the time and money - YIP"

While people complain about no single player for this game, I do not care as I heard it will be released after Multiplayer has been patched properly as it is the main focus on Arma games.

The game itself is Beautiful, The lighting is great, Player textures are awesome and the animations are less clunky compared to Arma 2 and make a more enjoyable experience for the player.

There are some lag issues online but that is due to what server you are connecting to, some server host have weak connections causing lag for al players. I recommend Sa Matra or Seal Team Sloth servers.

The best thing about this game is the community has already put alot of work in, with 100's of mods released from texture packs, to added weapons and vehicles/air craft all the way to sounds packs and realism healing/revival. 1000 or so custom missions made by the community in the steam workshop, Awesome !

The gameplay is quite a step up from the previous game even though the released game itself lacks content such as more weapons and aircraft, but I understand Bohemia is working on free DLC to remedy that..Also mods from the fans also remdey this !

Arma is not Arma without the community behind it, so far it seems like it is. Can't wait for the future of Arma when it fully kicks off.

Purchased on Mighty Ape

While the game is polished with an extraordinary attention to detail, squad command, vehicles and environment, the real catch for newbies is the lack of content and tutorials.

Those not familiar with the Arma series of games are likely to get a shock when they realise their purchase is basically just the game engine with no missions. Despite going on sale in September 2013 the campaign wasn't scheduled to be available online until October. It still hadn't arrived by early October. Put very simply, missions for single player are developed by the Arma community (ie the public) and the game ships with just a couple of “Showcase” missions. Sadly there is very little (read, “virtually none”) tutorial material or missions included in the retail pack and all must be downloaded (for free) from Steam. Early purchasers were left twiddling their thumbs waiting for missions to be developed or released while they scoured the internet looking for information on what buttons to press when to operate their character. Add in some issues with framerates on multiplayer servers (supposedly addressed in a quickly released patch) and some people were very disappointed.

That being said, the game has enormous potential. Graphically it's very pretty (as are most games these days). The realism is leaps and bounds ahead of any other modern warfare based FPS games like the Battlefield or Modern Warfare series. Jumping up and down in this game will quickly result in your death – you will spend much more time crawling and crouching – just as in real life.

The online multiplayer provides enormous potential for real cooperation with other players real squad-like behaviour. Want to spent all day creeping around as a sniper supporting a patrol in the valley below you- Not a problem with this game. You could even team up with a friend with him playing as your spotter.

As far as current games go for realism, the sky is the limit with this game. Just be aware that the content and play is heavily dependent upon the community involvement. Without the public contributing to the development there is no game. That might put some off but for many others the community involvement and the benefits that flow from that make this game extremely attractive.

If you know what you are getting into with this game, you will love it. If you want another BF4 or MW FPS, you'll be sorely disappointed.

I am not a very good game player but like getting them just the same. The graphics in this one are outstanding. I have 3 monitors connected to my pc and was wanting to get this on all 3 so I could see more threats to the sides but unfortunately will only come up on one screen unless you want to fork out heaps of money for a matrox triple head box. I will persevere with the single little 24 inch monitor, but I keep getting shot from behind so would really like an update to get it working on all 3 eyefinity screens to help me survive a minute longer.
