Description

Dead or Alive:
DOA: Dead or Alive is the big screen adaptation of the highly successful Tecmo fighting game series of the same name. The story, a cross between Charlie’s Angels and Enter the Dragon, revolves around four beautiful women who begin as rivals in a secret invitation-only martial arts contest, but find themselves teaming up with one another against a sinister force. Tina Armstrong (Jaime Pressly) is a superstar in the world of women’s wrestling. Christie (Holly Valance) is a beautiful thief and assassin-for-hire. Princess Kasumi (Devon Aoki) is an Asian warrior-aristocrat, schooled by martial arts masters. Helena Douglas (Sarah Carter) is an extreme sports athlete whose tragic past binds her to the remote palace in Southeast Asia where the Dead or Alive tournament takes place.

Serenity:
Serenity is the feature-length adaptation of Joss Whedon’s cult TV show, Firefly, about a band of galactic outcasts 500 years in the future. The story centres on Captain Malcolm “Mal” Reynolds (Nathan Fillion), a hardened veteran (on the losing side) of a galactic civil war, who now ekes out a living pulling off small crimes and transport-for-hire aboard his ship, Serenity. He leads a small, eclectic crew who are the closest thing he has left to family – squabbling, insubordinate and undyingly loyal. When Mal takes on two new passengers – a young doctor and his unstable telepathic sister – he gets much more than he bargained for. The pair are fugitives from the coalition dominating the universe who will stop at nothing to reclaim the girl.

Doom:
Something has gone wrong at a remote scientific research station on Mars. All research has ceased. And the messages that do get through are less than comforting. It’s a level 5 quarantine, and the only souls allowed in or out are the Rapid Response Tactical Squad – hardened marines armed to the teeth with enough firepower to neutralise any enemy…or so they think. The research being done at Olduval station has unwittingly opened a door, and all hell has broken loose. A legion of nightmarish creatures of unknown origin lurks behind every wall and stalks the countless rooms and tunnels of the facility, killing what few people remain.

Pitch Black:
The daylight can burn you, but the darkness will kill you. From the mind of the writer of The Fugitive comes the pulse-pounding sci-fi thriller, Pitch Black. Experience the psychological terror when a group of marooned passengers must face a pack of terrifying creatures whose only weakness is the light. With little power and dwindling numbers, the doomed passengers turn to a vicious convict (Vin Diesel) with an appetite for destruction and eerie eyes that can guide them through the darkness.
