There are two internal horizonal braces providing stability, but they prevent the middle three drawers from closing to the same depth as the top and bottom drawers. The runners have a kind of soft close friction zone when pushed all the way in, but the aforementioned design flaw prevents the middle three drawers from getting there, meaning they have a habit of rolling partway open by themselves.
