Description

THIS IS THE FIRST EDITION. PLEASE SEE OUR NEW, SECOND EDITION (ISBN: 9798989079735). The 30 Days of Sex Talks program makes it simple for you to discuss love, sex, bodies and relationships in a comfortable setting. You and your child can talk about sex in the context in which it belongs; as part of a healthy relationship that also includes joy, laughter and the full range of emotion that defines human intimacy. Between the ages of eight and 11, children become much more aware of their bodies. Knowledge about how the human body works and how the body changes can empower your child! This book contains 30 topics for discussion including: puberty, curiosity, self-worth, and intimate relationships. These topics can be used to start important dialogue with your child while allowing you to interject your feelings, thoughts, and cultural beliefs. At the end of this book you will find a code that will allow you to download topic cards which can be printed and placed in strategic locations, such as a mirror, to remind you and your child to start talking! Remember that having these talks with your child will establish a pattern of healthy conversations for the future. Your goal is that your child will feel comfortable talking to you about anything as he or she grows into the healthy, knowledgeable person he or she will become.

Author Biography:

Comprised of parents and professionals, the mission of Educate and Empower Kids (EEK) is to empower parents to create deep connection with their kids through media education, meaningful family communication and intentional parenting. As a nonprofit 501(c)(3), EEK works across the country to provide essential resources for parents, educators and clinicians to teach children and teenagers how to become resilient and strong. We believe this must be done by teaching digital citizenship, media literacy, and healthy sexuality education-including education about the dangers of online porn. Dina Alexander is the founder and CEO of Educate and Empower Kids (educateempowerkids.org), an organization determined to strengthen families by teaching digital citizenship, media literacy, and healthy sexuality education-including education about the dangers of online porn. She is the creator of Noah's New Phone: A Story About Using Technology for Good, Petra's Power to See: A Media Literacy Adventure, How to Talk to Your Kids About Pornography and the 30 Days of Sex Talks and 30 Days to a Stronger Child programs. She received her master's degree in recreation therapy from the University of Utah and her bachelors from Brigham Young University. She is an amazing mom and loves spending time with her husband and three kids.
