24 Hours Of Night is the debut album from Nightchoir, released on famed local label 1157. Though this may be a “new” project, the members of Nightchoir - Mike Hall, Matthias Jordan &
Michael Franklin-Browne - have played together for nearly a decade as the rhythm section for Pluto! Nightchoir’s sound differs in temperament & tone with their song drawing on the gentler edge of musical genres, including alt-country, indie-pop & folk.

Channeling the lilt of David Rawlings, the tempo of Red House Painters in places, & the mood of Band Of Horses, Nightchoir deliver a staggeringly beautiful album, which refreshingly explores varied song styles but is made coherent with the focused vision of friends who know & trust each other’s skills implicitly.

24 Hours Of Night was recorded at Roundhead during 2009, engineered by Kerry Furlong, mixed by Jol Mulholland (The Mots, Gasoline Cowboy) & mastered by Greg Calbi at Sterling Studios in New York. The trio first got together to work on some of Mike Hall’s tracks which were recorded as a series of demos. In 2008 Pluto had been promoting & touring their 3rd album & while catching their breath, the Nightchoir project resurfaced - with Hall having more songs & both Jordan & Franklin-Browne also contributing.

Frontman Mike Hall’s music history is long: from hardcore band Balance in the late ‘90s to sweet indie popsters The Brunettes in the early 2000s & having now played bass for Pluto for more than a decade. Mike Franklin-Browne has lined up behind the drums for Pluto & recently for Head Like A Hole.
